Who are the kits and workshops for?

Our kits and workshops are designed for complete beginners — no art experience needed. If you can hold a stylus, you can dot! They are also a great creative reset for experienced crafters.

What skill level do I need?

None at all. Every kit includes a step-by-step pattern guide, and every workshop starts with the fundamentals. Participants of all ages (8 and up) enjoy the process.

What is included in a physical Rock Pattern Kit?

Each Rock Pattern Kit includes:

  • A printed or downloadable mandala pattern sized for rocks
  • A colour guide showing which dot colours go where
  • Basic tool and paint instructions

Paint, rocks, and dotting tools are not included unless clearly stated on the product listing. Check the product page for the full contents of each kit.

What is the difference between a physical kit and a digital download?

A physical kit ships to your door and includes printed materials. A digital download is a PDF you receive by email immediately after purchase — print it at home and get started right away. Both contain the same pattern and colour guide.

What tools do I need?

For most patterns you need:

  • Dotting styluses (various tip sizes) — available in our shop
  • Acrylic paint suitable for the surface you are working on
  • A palette or paint plate to load your stylus
  • A sealer or varnish to protect the finished piece (optional but recommended)

Our patterns note which tip sizes work best, so you can buy only what you need.

Can I paint on rocks and curved surfaces?

Yes — our patterns are built specifically for rocks. The key is using a slow-drying acrylic paint so dots stay round, and letting each colour dry before adding the next. Smooth, sealed stones work best. Mugs and other curved ceramics can also work well with the right paint for that surface.

What should I do to prepare a rock or stone?

  • Paint it in any colour of your choice. They do not need to be black
  • Stencil it if you wish
  • Mark your center and work your way outwards

What do I need to bring to an in-person workshop?

Everything is provided at our workshops — just bring yourself and a willingness to have fun. Wear something you don't mind getting a few paint drops on, just in case!
